Mr. Prayasvin B. Patel (DIN: 00037394) holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar and also a Master in Business and Administration from Loyola University of USA. He is an industrialist with rich experience of over 5 decades in managing Engineering Industry. He began his career as a Sales Director of Prayas Casting Private Limited located in Vallabh Vidyanagar (one of the Elecon Group of Companies). He joined Elecon as Joint Managing Director and over the years, rose to the position of the Managing Director in 1993. In 2006, he took charge of the overall responsibility of the Elecon Group as the Chairman & Managing Director.

With his passion for improvement and hands-on leadership on the shop floor, Mr. Patel played a key role in the Gear Division’s transformation to Asia’s largest industrial gear manufacturer. Renowned for his strategic vision and market insights, he played a pivotal role in elevating Elecon Group, including its first international acquisition of the Benzlers-Radicon Group from David Brown Gear Systems. Additionally, he spearheaded the development of the Ultra-Modern Manufacturing Facility called Bhanubhai Memorial Centre of Excellence (BMCE) and expanded the group by acquiring companies in bridge construction and ultrasonic testing equipment manufacturing. His strategic foresight and deep understanding of industry dynamics have enabled Elecon Group to lead across several sectors.

A compassionate leader, Mr. Patel is actively involved in various CSR initiatives, including setting up a cardiac centre, dialysis centre, trauma centre, CT scan facility, scholarships for students and donating parks to the local community and many more. He continues the philanthropic legacy of his family, spanning multiple generations. Mr. Patel’s vigorous efforts have been widely recognized and acknowledged in the form of awards and accolades bestowed on him for his achievements, both in the business sector and as an exemplary human being. He was also honored with the ‘CharotarRatna’ by the Rotary Club, Anand.
